Think about scratching of magic shroom spores, but also to cut of mycelium out of agar. You can also use a scalpel when a you haven’t properly removed the shroom. In this case you can cut out the shroom, so there is extra room for your shrooms to grow.

It is also very important to clean your scalpel properly. This prevents that bacteria will grow on the scalpel. You can clean the scalpel with alcohol. Please do note that the scalpel is very sharp.
