Jack Frost Grow Bag Instructions

Thank you for choosing the  Jack Frost Grow Bag. Your grow bag arrives fully colonized and is ready to use upon arrival. Simply place it in the right environment and let nature do the rest.

Before You Start

Cleanliness is essential for a successful harvest. Contamination can negatively affect your grow, so always handle the grow bag with care.

Before touching the bag, we recommend that you:

  • Wash your hands thoroughly.
  • Disinfect your work surface.
  • Wear clean disposable gloves.
  • Wear a face mask if possible to further reduce the risk of contamination.

Important Guidelines

  • Your Jack Frost Grow Bag is ready to use and requires no preparation.
  • Do not open the bag until you are ready to harvest.
  • Leave the elastic band in place throughout the growing process.
  • Do not add water during the first flush.
  • Never place the grow bag in a refrigerator.
  • Do not use a heating mat or other artificial heat source.
  • Keep the bag away from direct sunlight, radiators, or other heat sources.
  • Avoid placing the grow bag near houseplants or flowers, as they may introduce contaminants.

Growing Conditions

For the best results, keep the grow bag in a clean, well-ventilated room with a stable temperature between 20°C and 25°C (68°F–77°F).

The ideal location should:

  • Be out of direct sunlight.
  • Have good airflow.
  • Maintain a stable room temperature.
  • Not be inside a cupboard, drawer, box, or other enclosed space.

Always keep the bag standing upright and make sure the filter patch remains uncovered.

During Growth

As the mycelium continues to develop, a white layer may spread across the substrate. This is completely normal and indicates healthy colonization.

Under ideal conditions, small mushroom pins usually begin to appear after approximately 10–14 days. Environmental conditions such as temperature and airflow can influence this timeline.

The Jack Frost mushrooms are generally ready to harvest after approximately 3–4 weeks.

If Growth Is Slow

Slow development is usually caused by environmental conditions rather than the grow bag itself.

Check the following:

  • Is the temperature consistently between 20°C and 25°C?
  • Is there enough fresh air circulation?
  • Is the filter patch unobstructed?
  • Is the bag receiving indirect daylight but no direct sunlight?

If necessary, move the grow bag to another location with better airflow. Even a small change in location can significantly improve growth.

Récolte

Harvest the mushrooms once they have reached maturity.

Always practice good hygiene:

  • Wash your hands and forearms thoroughly.
  • Wear clean gloves whenever possible.
  • Keep your growing area clean.

Carefully twist each mushroom at the base and remove it completely to keep the substrate clean for future flushes.

Preparing for the Next Flush

After harvesting the first flush:

  1. Lightly mist the inside of the bag with clean water.
  2. Close the bag securely using a paper clip or similar clip.
  3. Return the grow bag to the same growing conditions.

With proper care, your Jack Frost Grow Bag can produce multiple flushes.

Storage

  • Keep the grow bag at room temperature.
  • Avoid sudden temperature fluctuations.
  • Keep it away from direct sunlight.
  • Only open the bag when harvesting.

Providing a clean environment, stable temperatures, and good airflow will help your Jack Frost Grow Bag produce the best possible harvests.
